How Find Your Corner works

1. Search once. Type any place, postcode, station or borough, or drop a pin. Then say what it is to you: a home to check, another destination, or the only destination.
2. Destinations sit in the bar as chips, each with its own time limit. Click one to change its limit or remove it. With more than one, the map shows where every trip fits.
3. Set how and when: travel by, when, and what the map shows (Bands, Within max, Fit, Rent).
4. Filter with Living costs (buy or rent) and Near (stations, indoor pools, gyms, tennis, big shops, parks).
5. Click any spot for its times by mode, its fit, costs and walks. Save the good ones to your shortlist.
6. Journey, at the foot of the details: how the number on the map is made (walk or ride to a station, PT, then on to the door), with TfL's live route beside it. With more than one destination, click a row of the times table to see its journey.

Reset puts travel, time, view and filters back to the start. It keeps your destinations and shortlist. Copy link shares exactly this view.

The risk asks (avoid noise, air pollution, flood or crime) are rows in the Fit view. They are off until you give them a weight.

What needs the home engine

Bike and Lime times to a pinned destination are an estimate from the straight-line distance (usually within 5 minutes, marked ~) while the engine is off; the engine's own route replaces it when it is on. Everything else is precomputed and always works.

About the data

• Journeys: timetables from TfL Open Data, DfT BODS and TravelWhiz (CC-BY); streets © OpenStreetMap contributors. Planned service, not live disruptions.
• Parks: OS Open Greenspace (parks and gardens, playing fields, 2 ha or more); walks go to the nearest gate. Contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2026.
• Big shops: GEOLYTIX Grocery Retail Points, the eight main chains over 1,400 m² (Aldi and Lidl from 280 m²). Contains data provided by GEOLYTIX.
• Indoor pools and gyms: Sport England Active Places (open, indoor, public pools; gyms not for private use), with OpenStreetMap for venues it does not list. Contains Data © Sport England, licensed under CC BY 4.0 (notice); © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).
• Tennis, stations: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).
• Prices and rents: ONS median price paid (OGL); asking rents from PropertyData. Risks: police.uk, Environment Agency, Defra, GLA LAEI (OGL).
• Search: Photon (komoot) and postcodes.io. Lime: the zone and bike availability are modelled.

A free map for choosing where to live in London by journey time. No accounts, no cookies, no ads. Your destinations, shortlist and notes stay in this browser; Copy link puts them into the link you share. What you type in the search box goes to Photon and postcodes.io, and the Journey check asks TfL, so those services see what you look up. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, counts visits without cookies.
